I thoroughly enjoy working as a carer. It is my passion in life to make people feel comfortable and at ease in their own environment. It gives me great pleasure to see a client happy and knowing that I made a difference to their life. I am originally from Ghana. I have a little boy. I have been a carer for 2 years professionally. But I have personal care experience of being a carer for over 10 years, as my older brother suffers with cerebral palsy. There isn't much he can do himself. I take care of his washing, cooking, cleaning and shopping. I make sure he has everything he needs. Professionally, I started caring in April, 2013. I am reliable, down to earth, friendly and an outgoing soul. I get on with people from all walks of life. I pride myself of my skill as a carer. It is very important to be patient, which I am. I work mainly with elderly people, but I am more than willing to also take on adult disability care, work with different people and set myself new challenges and new experiences. I have experience in caring for stroke victims, in dementia care, terminal cancer patient care and cerebral palsy care, which is close to my heart. I carry out personal needs care e.g toileting and bathing and dressing. I also help with washing, cooking and cleaning and administer medication in a home care setting. I have also been trained in manual handling, which allows me the knowledge and ability to move people who are bed bound out of the bed and into a wheelchair or into the shower, using a hoist. I have also been trained in the emptying of catheter bags. I love to read in my spare time. I like reading novels and autobiographies. I am a massive book collector! I also love spending time with my little boy. I believe that I can offer you the services that you need and require. I always make it my mission to make a client smile before I walk out of their door.
I worked with Margaret for 1 year. Margaret was a fantastic colleague and great team member. She was very reliable and always punctual. She was caring and efficient in her work, worked to a high standard and was professional. Her verbal communication was very good and she was a lovely person to work with.
Margaret is a very warm, responsible and reliable carer and willing to learn.
